Besides its Academy and Composition Competition impuls is also promoting concerts and biennial festivals of contemporary music and organising other activities like workshops, music communications programs ... and special projects like the impuls . MinuteConcerts.
Through these versatile programs impuls offers different approaches to - and thus contributes to a better understanding of - both classical modern and contemporary music not only for professionals, but also for broader audiences.

 

 

During 2013 impuls promoted various events in Graz and Vienna:

On December 12th, 2013 Sofie Thorsbro Pedersen and John Popham, both former participants of the impuls academy, performed works by the violinist and composer Annie Gosfield who was also present as a performer. The concert was accompanied by lectures and a workshop by Annie Gosfield at the IEM Cube in Graz.

 

On July 3rd,2013 a screening of the video Composition beyond Music by Christine Schörkhuber took place at Viitasaari in Finland: A documentation of the workshop Composition beyond Music with Peter Ablinger during the impuls Academy 2013 in Graz, Austria.

On February 19th, 2013 the new work irimi by Malin Bång, one of the nominated impuls composition-competition-composers, has been performed by Klangforum Wien in Vienna.
