Nassir Heidarian-Rasty, conductor (ensembles)
Nassir Heidarian-Rasty was born in 1957 in Tehran, Iran. After graduating from the Tehran Conservatory of Music majoring in trombone he became a member of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra, were he played the trombone and conducted the choir. In 1984 Mr. Heidarian-Rasty came to Vienna to intensify his studies of trombone at the University of Music and Performing Arts. In 1997 he received a degree of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in conducting were he joined the faculty in 2005. In addition to his lectureship he has performed with different ensembles and orchestras from all over Europe, Korea and Iran, amongst them the Youth Symphony Orchestra Venezuela and Symphony Orchestra Teheran, and was awarded the Richard Wagner grant by the University of Bayreuth. In 2015 und 2016 Nassir Heidarian-Rasty was also giving master classes on conducting in South Korea, since 2016 he is also on the board of the Rudaki-Foundation, a project of the Ministry of Culture Tehran.
Nassir Heidarian-Rasty will accompany Bas Wiegers from February 11th to 15th and work with the ensembles as well during that period.
