Composer in Residency Benjamin Scheuer talks about his work
The two Academies IKI/Opus XXI (Germany/ France) und impuls (Austria) decided to mutually invite young composers suggested by each Academy, in order to offer them a wider and international audience as well as the possibility to have their pieces performed by different ensembles. After the young Austrian composer Matthias Kranebitter now Benjamin Scheuer from Germany has been selected to both participate and work at the impuls Academy in Graz in 2015. Benjamin Scheuer will write a new work for baritone, flute, saxophone and accordion, to be worked on and premiered at the impuls Festival. In addition to that at least one more piece (kaleidoscope for vocal ensemble) shall be rehearsed and performed as well during his stay at impuls. An impuls project within the EU-Network Ulysses. |
